The Retreat is situated in a remote corner of Selous Game Reserve.  Sympathetically constructed buildings and tented suites harmonise with the natural surroundings.

The 6 standard hill tents are close to the main lodge at the top of the hill.  In addition there are 3 private river suites with individual plunge pool each with look-out deck overlooking the Ruaha River.  There is also a honeymoon or family suite with private plunge pool and roof ‘chill out’ area.   All tents are based on a teak platform and contain a large bed, lounge, outdoor bathtub, indoor bathroom with toilet and shower, sitting and writing areas.  Tents are well spaced and on different levels to give maximum privacy.

The main house (a clay fort) offers dining in either the main dining room area near the infinity swimming pool, on the first floor overlooking the river or privately in one of the 2 towers with 360 degree views.  There are plenty of large sofas to relax on, a carved antique bar at the top of the hill or a sunset bar by the river where there is also a roofed infinity pool.   There is a spa with massage and Jacuzzi as well as stone, crystal and sound therapies.

Fly camping in the bush is available as well as game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles, walking and boat trips.
